What Others Are Saying

When looking at what people had to say about this speargun, we’re pleased to report that many customers had great things to say. People like that this speargun is lightweight and compact.

SEAC New Sting Sling Speargun Handle

One customer reported the gun is small enough to pack in luggage that will be checked at the airport, so you can travel with this speargun without it taking up too much space or add too much weight to your luggage.

Other customers commented that the gun feels like it’s made with decent quality materials, but there could be room for improvement. With that said, customers did mention that for a close-range speargun, there is a lot of power when you pull the trigger. Several folks said they were able to catch a lot of fish, thanks to this unit’s accuracy and power.

Although many customers had great things to say about this product, there were a few people who were less than impressed. A small handful of people have said that they had major issues with the trigger and the safety mechanism.

These customers reported that within six months, the safety mechanism has failed completely. This causes the speargun to fire even when the safety switch is in the locked position. They also commented that even if you shake or bump the speargun and the trigger is in the locked position, it will still misfire.

Another concern people had was regarding the shaft of the speargun. Customers stated that there wasn’t a good way to attach the line to the shaft because the front guide has a lot of slope.

One person even stated that the shaft of their speargun broke only after a shooting it once. Some people also mentioned that their speargun didn’t arrive with key items like the spear, the line, or the tip. With these pieces missing, the customers couldn’t use the speargun as intended.

Final Verdict

There are many entry-level spearguns currently on the market, so we understand your interest in our opinion, and for that we are thankful. When we’re looking at spearguns, we want to make sure that the product is safe to use.

Even though only a small handful of people said that they had problems with the safety mechanism on their speargun, that is enough to give us pause.

We do like that the speargun features a double muzzle design, which gives you the option to add an additional sling if you’d like. We also appreciate that the trigger mechanism is made from stainless steel and is filled with polyamide. This combination is great for ensuring the functionality of the speargun, but also ensures its reliability as well.

We also like that this speargun features an anatomic grip that makes the gun easier to hold. Not only that, but it is also equipped with a sternum rest, which simplifies the reloading action.

The question of the day is, is this a good speargun to buy? To that we say yes. Even though there were customers who said the safety mechanism failed, we believe that these are rare instances and aren’t a direct reflection of the speargun.

With that said, we do suggest that you always use caution when using any speargun because accidents are always a possibility.
